aqualung solo, originally uploaded by reidspice. went to see matt hales solo at the swedish american hall. great, intimate show. he’s a superb songwriter and performer. also, the swedish american hall does not serve alcohol. seriously.
had a wonderful time at lovefest (again). one of my favorite street festivals in san francisco. the weather was great, people were great, costumes were great, music was great. so, yeah, great. it was.

outside lands, originally uploaded by reidspice. went to all three days of the outside lands festival. it was.. okay. highlights were benevento/russo, sharon jones & the dap kings, regina spektor, nellie mckay, wilco and radiohead (despite the fact that i couldn’t actually see the stage for most of their show.. why wasn’t the stage higher?) harley davids, originally uploaded by reidspice. was lucky enough to catch the tall firs, my friends from brooklyn, at cafe du norde right before i took off for europe. they put on a great show, as usual.
finally caught owen’s band, the guitar zeros, at el rio last weekend. they play real music with guitar hero controllers (owen reverse engineered the signals coming out of the controllers). cool stuff.
peter on bass, originally uploaded by reidspice. old friend peter d’elia was in town a couple weeks ago, visiting from berlin. it was nice to see him and play some music. jim and charlie helped out on guitar and improvised vocals. our original easter song was an instant classic.

went to see the grove street stompers at arthur’s tavern on one of my last nights in new york. apparently these guys have been playing here every monday night for a long, long time..
